Bon Appétit Management Company is an onsite custom restaurant company offering full food service management by providing café and catering service to corporations, colleges, universities, and specialty venues. We have over 1,000 locations in 33 states. Founded in 1987 as a catering company, the hallmark of Bon Appétit’s expertise is serving fresh food that is prepared from scratch using authentic ingredients. Good to know

cooking from scratch

From stocks to sauces, dressings, and dough, we cook from scratch in each location. Our approach to food allows us to provide fresh foods from whole ingredients.

Food allergies

We take food allergies seriously. If you or your guests have a food allergy, it is important to let our catering team know so we can make the necessary preparations before your event. Since everything is cooked from scratch onsite, our chefs can easily tell you what ingredients are in a specific dish and make modifications if needed.

Avoiding gluten?

For our guests with celiac disease or other gluten intolerances, we offer menu items that have been prepared without gluten-containing ingredients. Please note that our menu items are not guaranteed gluten-free, as defined by the FDA, because we prepare and handle products containing gluten in in an open kitchen environment.

Quality meat

Turkey and chicken are produced without the routine use of antibiotics as a feed additive. Pork and beef are raised without antibiotics as a first preference. All seafood purchases, wild and farmed, follow the sustainability guidelines of the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch Program. Turkey and beef are roasted in-house daily for deli meat. Milk and yogurt are from cows not treated with artificial bovine growth hormone. Eggs are produced cage-free and are certified by humane farm animal care, food alliance or animal welfare approved.

Bon Appétit has long been the role model for responsible sourcing in the food service industry. Our path towards greater sustainability started as a quest for flavor. When cooking from scratch, you want the very best ingredients. That led us to launch our Farm to Fork program in 100 – long before local food became the welcome trend it is today. Our years of working directly with farmers and ranchers opened our eyes to the many problems of our modern food supply: while it is abundant and cheap, it has many hidden costs. We believe we can deliver fantastic food and wonderful service while also helping make our food system better. It’s a tall order, but we do love a challenge. As Margaret Mead once said, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world; inddd , it is the only thing that ever has.”

Services

This guide is intended to help you as you begin planning for your event. Our catering staff will be happy to customize menus and service proposals to meet specific needs for your special occasion. Total pricing for the event will reflect your menu selections, service selections and any applicable service charges and state tax.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE

Food and beverages, including all alcohol, are to be purchased from Bon Appétit exclusively. Bon Appétit must approve any requests for changes to this policy prior to the event through a sanitation sheet. All food and beverages are to be consumed on the premises. Food and beverages not consumed remain the property of Bon Appétit.

GUARANTEES

In arranging for catering events, a final guaranteed number of anticipated guests must be received by noon, ten (10) business days prior to the event, to allow ample time for the ordering process. Any additions after are not guaranteed. Actual attendance at your event will be compared to the guaranteed count and final billing will be based on the greater of these two numbers.

PAYMENT

Internal clients must submit department numbers and/or project numbers. We accept credit cards or checks. Payment information must be submitted to confirm your order.

CANCELLATIONS

In the event of an event cancellation, refunds and fees are determined based on the number of days written notice is received, prior to the scheduled function date. Cancellation fees are determined as such:  five days in advance 25% of estimated charges are due, four days in advance 50% of estimated charges are due, three days 75% of estimated charges are due, two days or less 100% of estimated charges are due.

SALES TAX

Applicable state sales tax and service charge will be added to food, beverage, rentals, and all service charges for catered events. Subject to change.

PICK UP / DELIVERY ORDERS

Items available in our catering guide can also be modified to accommodate any pickup or delivery order requests. Please contact the catering office for pricing and to place your order.

READY TO GO

Items identified with our “ready to go” icon is available for pickup or delivery for a flexible, convenient value option.

Standard On-Site Event Packages

Although service style and menu vary from one event to another, we’ve assembled this standard package as an outline for your event. Services not listed as part of the standard package are available in the specialty service section for additional charges.

MENU PRICES

While Bon Appétit strives to ensure accuracy, we reserve the right to correct any errors in pricing or descriptions and to cancel or refuse to accept any order based on an incorrect price or description. Prices are subject to change without notice due to market conditions.

ORDERING

To ensure availability of service and menu items please place your orders at least 4 business days in advance. For last-minute catering requests please contact the catering department, and we will do our best to accommodate you a late/rush fee of 25% of the subtotal will be added to the order. Know what you want? Orders can be placed online at pepperdine.catertrax.com. Your order will automatically be forwarded to the Catering Team, and you will receive a confirmation email for your records.

EVENT STAFF

A smiling server adds an elevated level of service to your event. Bon Appetit will provide staff as needed based on your guest count and menu needs. Additional staff can be added for $45 per hour per server.

SUBSTITUTIONS

Bon Appétit must reserve the right to make substitutions when market conditions dictate or for any reason beyond our control. All substitutions will be of comparable or greater value and if possible, you will be notified in advance.

MANAGEMENT GUARANTEE

Bon Appétit provides supervisors trained to handle all service details. They will handle any last-minute minimal changes or requests and ensure the event proceeds as planned. Any changes to the room set up during the event will be subject to additional fees.

LABOR

Extended event labor hours are added when an event exceeds the pre-arranged end time. $45 plus tax and service charge may be added per additional hour, per service staff member.

 

TABLETOP

Disposables or china, flatware and glassware are available. China service is available at an additional cost. Served meals are required to upgrade to china service.

LINEN

All Bon Appetit tables will be covered in your choice of house linen. A charge of $6 per linen will be applied for your guest tables, or any additional linen requested with any catered order with Bon Appetit. House linen is available without any catering order at a charge of $10. Specialty table linens are available at an additional cost.

EQUIPMENT RENTAL

Please contact the catering office to arrange your equipment needs. A 7-business day notice is required to meet our vendor ordering and delivery timelines. Equipment is subject to availability.
